Terms of Use

Last Updated: February 14, 2025

Welcome to corynthi. These terms govern your access to and use of our website, services, and educational resources. By accessing corynthi.com, you're agreeing to these terms in full.

We've written this in plain language because legal documents shouldn't require a law degree to understand. If something's unclear, reach out—we're here to help.

1. About Our Services

corynthi provides budget education and financial literacy resources to individuals across Australia. Our platform offers learning programs, articles, tools, and community support designed to help people better understand personal finance.

What we offer might change over time as we develop new resources or update existing ones. We'll do our best to keep things running smoothly, but we can't promise uninterrupted access at all times—technology has its moments.

Educational Purpose

Everything we publish is for educational purposes. While we work hard to provide accurate information, financial situations vary wildly from person to person. Our content shouldn't replace advice from qualified financial professionals who understand your specific circumstances.

2. Your Account Responsibilities

If you create an account with us, you're responsible for keeping your login details secure. That means choosing a proper password—not "password123"—and not sharing access with others.

You need to be at least 18 years old to create an account. If you're younger, you'll need a parent or guardian to handle registration and use the services with their supervision.

  • Provide accurate information during registration
  • Keep your contact details current so we can reach you when needed
  • Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access
  • Take responsibility for all activity under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in suspicious activity.

3. Acceptable Use Guidelines

Most of this is common sense, really. Use our platform respectfully and legally. Don't try to break things, steal content, or make life difficult for other users.

You Agree Not To:

  • Copy, redistribute, or sell our educational content without permission
  • Attempt to hack, disrupt, or overload our systems
  • Upload malware, viruses, or harmful code
  • Impersonate corynthi staff or other users
  • Scrape our website using automated tools or bots
  • Use our services for illegal activities or fraud
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other community members

If we notice behaviour that crosses these lines, we'll take action—which might include removing content, suspending access, or reporting serious violations to authorities.

4. Intellectual Property Rights

All content on corynthi.com—articles, videos, tools, graphics, course materials—belongs to corynthi or our content partners. This includes stuff that might seem simple, like our logo or the way we've organized information.

You can access and use our resources for personal learning. You can't republish our content on your own website, print it in bulk for commercial distribution, or claim it as your own work.

Fair Use: Quoting small portions of our content with proper attribution for educational or commentary purposes is fine. Copying entire articles or courses is not.

User-Generated Content

If you post comments, questions, or other content on our platform, you retain ownership of what you write. However, you grant us a license to display, modify, and use that content as part of our services.

Don't post anything you don't have the right to share. That includes copyrighted material, confidential information, or content that infringes on someone else's intellectual property.

5. Payment Terms and Refunds

Some of our educational programs require payment. All fees are listed in Australian dollars and include GST where applicable.

When you purchase a program, you're buying access to specific educational content—not guaranteed financial outcomes. Your results depend on how you apply what you learn, along with your personal circumstances.

Our Refund Policy

We offer refunds within 14 days of purchase if you haven't accessed more than 20% of the course content. After that point, or outside the 14-day window, refunds aren't available.

To request a refund, email contact@corynthi.com with your order details. We'll process approved refunds within 7 business days to your original payment method.

  • Technical issues preventing access don't count toward the 20% usage threshold
  • Refunds don't apply to promotional discounts or special offers
  • If you're experiencing financial hardship, talk to us—we'll work something out

6. Disclaimers and Limitations

Here's where we need to be clear about what we can and can't promise.

No Financial Advice

We provide education, not personalized financial advice. Our content discusses general concepts and strategies, but your financial decisions should involve professional advisors who understand your complete situation.

We don't recommend specific investments, endorse particular financial products, or guarantee any financial outcomes. The examples we use are illustrative—your experience will differ.

Service Availability

We work hard to keep our platform running reliably, but we can't guarantee 100% uptime. Maintenance, technical issues, or circumstances beyond our control might occasionally interrupt access.

We're not liable for losses resulting from service interruptions, whether that's missed learning opportunities or any other indirect consequences.

Important: Our services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee that our content is error-free or that using it will achieve specific results.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, corynthi's liability is limited to the amount you paid for our services in the 12 months before any claim arose.

We're not responsible for indirect damages, lost profits, or consequential losses—even if we've been advised they're possible.

7. Privacy and Data Protection

How we collect, use, and protect your personal information is detailed in our Privacy Policy. These terms and that policy work together.

We take data security seriously and use industry-standard measures to protect your information. That said, no online system is completely immune to breaches—we'll notify you promptly if something happens.

Your Data Rights

Under Australian privacy law, you have rights regarding your personal data. You can request access to what we hold, ask for corrections, or request deletion in certain circumstances.

To exercise these rights, contact our privacy team at contact@corynthi.com. We'll respond within 30 days.

8. Third-Party Links and Services

Our website occasionally links to external resources—other educational sites, financial tools, or reference materials. We choose these links carefully, but we don't control what happens once you click through.

Third-party websites have their own terms and privacy policies. We're not responsible for their content, practices, or any issues you encounter there.

Some third-party services integrate with our platform—payment processors, email systems, analytics tools. We vet these partners, but they operate under their own terms.

9. Changes to These Terms

We might update these terms occasionally to reflect new services, legal requirements, or operational changes. When we make significant revisions, we'll notify you by email or through a prominent notice on our website.

Continued use of our services after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms. If you disagree with modifications, stop using our platform and contact us to close your account.

We'll maintain an archive of previous versions, which you can request by emailing contact@corynthi.com.

10. Termination

You can stop using our services anytime. If you want us to delete your account and associated data, just ask—we'll handle it within 30 days.

We can suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or abuse our platform. We'll usually warn you first unless the violation is severe.

What Happens After Termination

  • You lose access to paid content, even if time remains on your subscription
  • We'll delete your personal data according to our retention policy
  • Certain provisions of these terms survive termination—things like intellectual property rights and liability limitations
  • Outstanding payments remain due

11. Dispute Resolution

If something goes wrong, let's talk first. Most issues can be sorted out through direct communication. Email contact@corynthi.com and we'll work toward a solution.

If we can't resolve a dispute informally, these terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any legal proceedings must be brought in the courts of New South Wales.

Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer rights under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable legislation that can't be excluded.

Where we're permitted to limit our liability, we limit it to resupplying the services or paying the cost of resupplying them.

12. General Provisions

These terms, along with our Privacy Policy and any specific program agreements, represent the complete understanding between you and corynthi.

Assignment

You can't transfer your rights under these terms to anyone else. We can assign our rights and obligations to another entity—for example, if corynthi is acquired or merged.

Severability

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. We'll replace the problematic section with something enforceable that matches our original intent.

No Waiver

If we don't enforce a particular term immediately, that doesn't mean we've waived our right to enforce it later. All rights remain reserved.

Force Majeure

We're not liable for delays or failures caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control—natural disasters, pandemics, government actions, internet infrastructure failures, or other force majeure events.
